Temples also served as Rest Houses for Travellers.
I believe, in ancient days, Huge temples were a place of stay for Travellers. When I visited Hampi, I observed the following:-
- Pushkarni - A small pool of water body, where travellers can take bath and freshen up. There were small changing rooms near the Pushkarni too.
2. Resting Mantapas - Mantapa, is nothing but a place of shelter, can be a small one or a much bigger one. Depending on the size of the temple, there were mantapas, built for people to take shelter and rest.

- TO SAVE THE TEMPLES PROPERTIES AND POSSESSIONS FROM UNWANTED ELEMENTS .
- TO MAINTAIN PROPER ACCOUNTING AND ADMINISTRATION.
- TO PROPERLY UTILIZE THE FUNDS FOR INNOVATING THE OLD TEMPLES .
- TO USE THE FUNDS FOR THE CLEANING AND UPKEEP OF ALL PONDS FOR WATER STORAGE.
- TO KEEP THE TEMPLE CLEAN WITH NO GARBAGE AT ALL.
